To evaluate the therapeutic effect of combined oral contraceptive pills in women with benign post-hysterectomy ovarian cysts.
Hysterectomy is one of the most frequently performed gynecological procedures worldwide, predominantly for benign uterine disorders . Although ovarian preservation avoids the consequences of premature menopause, ovarian cysts may subsequently develop and occasionally require treatment. Most simple cysts resolve spontaneously; however, persistent or symptomatic lesions often necessitate therapeutic intervention . Combined oral contraceptive pills have been proposed as a conservative option by suppressing ovarian activity, yet evidence regarding their effectiveness in women with post-hysterectomy ovarian cysts remains limited and inconsistent . Therefore, this randomized controlled study was designed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of combined oral contraceptive pills on benign post-hysterectomy ovarian cysts .

Ran from Aug 2024 to primary completion in Aug 2025, 12 months.
Of 18 interventional studies with no phase under Ovarian Cysts, half reached primary completion within 18 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 11 and three quarters within 28. This study's 12 months is below that.
