Study summary

A total of 18 treatment sessions will be conducted over six weeks (three sessions per week). Both groups will receive a hot pack for 7-8 minutes before treatment.

Group A will receive Kendall Posture Correction Exercises, including supine chin tucks, cervical extensor stretching, TheraBand shoulder retraction, and pectoral stretching for 20-30 minutes per session. Strengthening exercises will comprise 5 sets of 10 repetitions, while stretching will involve 5 repetitions with 60-second holds. Progression will begin in week 3 by increasing resistance and introducing advanced exercises according to tolerance.

Group B will receive Scapular Stabilization Exercises, including supine breathing, crook-lying arm raises, quadruped arm lifts, lateral dumbbell raises, and mirror-based postural correction for 20 minutes per session. Exercises will be performed in 3 sets of 10 repetitions with 10-second holds and 30-second rest intervals. Progression will include T-to-Y, T-Y-W, scapular protraction, and scapular-clock exercises to improve scapular strength, coordination, and postural alignment.

Study arms

  • Experimental
    Kendall Posture Correction Exercises

It includes Kendall Posture Correction Exercises. The total duration of program will be for 20 to 30 minutes. The program includes: * Strengthening of deep cervical flexors through supine chin tuck exercises (5 sets of 10 repetitions) * Cervical extensor stretching in sitting (5 repetitions, 60-second hold) * Shoulder retraction strengthening using TheraBand (5 sets of 10 repetitions) * Pectoralis muscle stretching using a door frame (5 repetitions, 60second hold) Progression will be introduced from week 3 by increasing exercise intensity and resistance, along with advanced variations such as head lift, manual overpressure, and prone scapular strengthening according to tolerance.

    Scapular Stabilization Exercises

Scapular Stabilization Exercises for a total duration of 20 minutes per session. Initial Phases The program consists of five phases including: * Supine deep breathing * Crook-lying arm raises * Quadruped arm lifts * Sitting lateral dumbbell raises * Postural correction training using a mirror, with each exercise held for 10 seconds and performed in 3 sets of 10 repetitions with 30-second rest intervals. Progression and supplementary exercises include T-to-Y and T-Y-W exercises (10 repetitions each with 5 sec hold) for scapular strengthening and coordination, scapular protraction exercises to activate serratus anterior, and scapular-clock exercises to improve mobility and postural alignment.

What researchers measure

Primary outcomes

  1. Numeric Pain Rating Scale ( NPRS )

11-point numeric with 0 representing No pain, 1-3 representing Mild Pain (nagging, annoying, interfering little with ADLs), 4-6 representing Moderate Pains (interferes significantly with ADLs), 7-10 representing Sever Pain (disabling, unable to perform ADL)

Time frame: Baseline and 6 weeks after post treatment

  2. Photogrammetry

It is a valid and reliable method for assessing the craniovertebral angle (CVA), demonstrating good validity (r = 0.89) and high reliability (95% CI: 0.78-0.99). In this study CVA will be measured using Kinovea Software which has shown excellent validity (r = 1.0) and reliability (ICC \> 0.99) for angle measurement. Therefore, Kinovea-based photogrammetry is a reliable method for assessing CVA and forward head posture

Time frame: Baseline and 6 weeks after post treatment

  3. Neck Disability Index (NDI)

Functional disability will be assessed using the Neck Disability Index (NDI), a reliable and validated 10-item self-reported questionnaire evaluating neck-related limitations in daily activities. Each item is scored from 0 to 5, with a total score ranging from 0 to 50. Higher scores indicate greater disability, while lower scores reflect better functional ability.

Time frame: Baseline and 6 weeks after post treatment

1 registry update since Sep 25, 2026
ElapsedEstimatedEstimated, not yet reachedSimilar studies: half by the dot; the band is the middle halfHalf of similar studies reached it by the dot; the band is the middle half, from a quarter to three quarters

Start is estimated for Oct 2026; primary completion for Dec 2026, 2 months later.

Of 696 non-industry interventional studies with no phase under Neck Pain, half reached primary completion within 7 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 3 and three quarters within 14. This study's planned 2 months is below that.

Counting every sponsor, half of 704 studies reached it within 7 months; a quarter within 3 and three quarters within 15.

How these figures are worked out, and which studies are left out of them.

What these dates mean
Start.
When the first participant enrolled; while estimated, when the study expects to open to recruitment.
Primary completion.
When the last participant was examined or treated to collect data for the study's main question, its primary outcome. A study that stopped early gives the date its data collection stopped.
Completion.
When the last participant's last visit took place, for every outcome, secondary ones and side effects included: the end of the study. Often later than primary completion, sometimes the same day.
Actual and Est.
Actual means the registry says the date has happened. Est. (estimated) is a date the sponsor plans or expects. It can still move, and the sponsor is expected to change it to actual once it has passed.
