An observational study in Nephrocalcinosis, sponsored by Assiut University. Not yet recruiting. Open to participants aged Up to 18 Years. Per ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 2026-10-20.
Sponsored by Assiut University · Observational
This cross-sectional study aims to identify the underlying etiology of nephrocalcinosis and to evaluate the diagnostic work-up in infants and children presenting to Assiut University Children's Hospital.
Nephrocalcinosis is the deposition of calcium salts within the renal tubules and interstitium, most often detected by renal ultrasonography. In children, common causes include idiopathic hypercalciuria, hereditary tubulopathies, and prematurity-related factors.
This observational study will systematically evaluate the clinical, biochemical, urinary metabolic, radiological, and when indicated genetic findings in infants and children with nephrocalcinosis to determine the underlying etiology.
