Sponsored by Pusan National University Hospital · Observational
This cross-sectional observational study analyzed baseline data from 836 children with cerebral palsy enrolled in the Korean Cerebral Palsy Registry (KCPR), a nationwide multicenter prospective registry involving 42 institutions in South Korea. The study examined rehabilitation and treatment utilization and evaluated socioeconomic and geographic factors associated with patterns of rehabilitation service use and cerebral palsy-related management. No intervention was assigned as part of this study.
The Korean Cerebral Palsy Registry (KCPR) is a nationwide multicenter prospective registry that enrolls children with cerebral palsy from participating institutions in South Korea. The present study is a cross-sectional observational analysis of baseline KCPR data. The analysis was performed retrospectively using data previously collected in the registry. Children registered between June 23, 2023 and August 10, 2026 were included in the study, and August 10, 2026 was used as the data cutoff date. Only information collected at the baseline registry assessment was analyzed.
Rehabilitation utilization during the 3 months preceding the baseline assessment was evaluated, including receipt of rehabilitation services, number and types of rehabilitation modalities, rehabilitation service settings, and technology-assisted rehabilitation. Cerebral palsy-related management, including botulinum toxin treatment, assistive device use, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgical intervention, was also evaluated. Associations of rehabilitation and treatment utilization with socioeconomic, geographic, functional, and clinical characteristics were examined. No intervention or treatment was assigned as part of this study.
This observational analysis was registered retrospectively after completion of the data analysis for transparency.
