An interventional study of Chamomile tea (Matricaria chamomilla) and Green tea (Camellia sinensis) in Hyperlipidemia and Normal, sponsored by Iahtisham-Ul-Haq. Completed at 1 site in Pakistan. Open to male participants, including healthy volunteers. Per ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 2026-11-04.
Sponsored by Iahtisham-Ul-Haq · Not applicable, Interventional, and Treatment
Present study was conducted to compare the efficacy of green tea (Camellia sinensis) and chamomile tea (Matricaria chamomilla), administered individually, as a combined intervention, and as a sequential (morning/evening) regimen on glycemic, lipid, hepatic, and renal biomarkers in normal and hyperlipidemic subjects. Two parallel studies were conducted: Study I assessed the effects of intervention on normal subjects while Study II assessed the effect in hyperlipidemic subjects. Both studies consisted of an untreated control group and four tea-based intervention groups. The biochemical parameters including fasting blood glucose (FBG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), bilirubin, urea, and creatinine were measured at baseline (Day 1) and after 30 days of intervention.
841 studies on the registry are indexed under Hyperlipidemias; 108 are open to participants now.
This study's enrollment of 25 is below the median of 88 across 709 interventional studies indexed under Hyperlipidemias.

Ran from Nov 2018 to primary completion in Mar 2019, 4 months.
Of 162 non-industry interventional studies with no phase under Hyperlipidemias, half reached primary completion within 16 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 7 and three quarters within 31. This study's 4 months is below that.
Counting every sponsor, half of 166 studies reached it within 16 months; a quarter within 7 and three quarters within 31.
