An observational study in Malnutrition, sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. Completed at 1 site in China. Open to participants aged 65 Years and older. Per ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 2026-10-19.
Sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University · Observational
Background and Objective:
Malnutrition is a common and serious health concern for older adults in the hospital. This study aims to understand how often malnutrition occurs in elderly inpatients and to look at the different factors that may be related to it. The goal is to help doctors better identify and care for older patients who are at risk of malnutrition.
Methods:
This study will look at older adults (aged 60 years and older) who are staying in the hospital. Participants will be assessed for their nutritional status using standard nutritional screening tools. The study will also collect general health information, such as age, body measurements, blood test results, and existing medical conditions. Researchers will then analyze this information to see which factors are most closely linked to the nutritional health of these patients.
1,619 studies on the registry are indexed under Malnutrition; 241 are open to participants now.
This study's enrollment of 1,237 is above the median of 206 across 401 observational studies indexed under Malnutrition.
