An interventional study of Application-Based Personalized Multicomponent Exercise Program in Physical Function in Older Adults, sponsored by Korea University Guro Hospital. Recruiting at 1 site in South Korea. Open to participants aged 65 Years and older, including healthy volunteers. Per ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 2026-10-13.
Sponsored by Korea University Guro Hospital · Not applicable, Interventional, and Supportive care
This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, usability, adherence, and potential effects of an application-based personalized multicomponent exercise program in older adults. Participants aged 65 years or older who are able to walk independently outdoors receive an individualized exercise program based on their baseline physical performance. The program includes resistance, aerobic, balance, and flexibility exercises delivered through a mobile application for approximately 30 minutes per session, 5 days per week, for 4 weeks. Exercise adherence is assessed using application-recorded exercise logs. Physical performance, balance, body composition, and perceived usability are also evaluated.
2,646 studies on the registry are indexed under Motor Activity; 1,205 are open to participants now.
This study's planned enrollment of 30 is below the median of 60 across 2,309 interventional studies indexed under Motor Activity.

Exclusion Criteria:
Cognitive impairment that may interfere with informed consent or participation in the exercise program Psychiatric disorders that may interfere with participation in the study Musculoskeletal disease, history of musculoskeletal surgery, or other medical conditions that, in the investigator's judgment, may preclude safe participation in the exercise program
Participants receive a personalized multicomponent exercise program delivered through a mobile application for approximately 30 minutes per session, 5 days per week, for 4 weeks. Exercise content is individualized according to baseline physical performance assessed using the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB).
Behavioral: Application-Based Personalized Multicomponent Exercise Program
The intervention consists of resistance, aerobic, balance, and flexibility exercises delivered through a mobile application. Exercise content is personalized according to baseline SPPB performance. Participants perform approximately 30 minutes of exercise per session, 5 days per week, for 4 weeks. Exercise completion is recorded through application usage logs.
Exercise Adherence Rate
Exercise adherence is calculated as the number of completed exercise sessions recorded in the application divided by the total number of prescribed exercise sessions (20 sessions), multiplied by 100. Higher percentages indicate greater adherence to the prescribed exercise program.
Time frame: During the 4-week intervention
System Usability Scale Score
Perceived usability of the application is assessed using the 10-item System Usability Scale (SUS). The total SUS score ranges from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating greater perceived usability.
Time frame: At the end of the 4-week intervention

Started May 2023 (actual). Primary completion is estimated for Mar 2027, 46 months after the start.
Of 1,726 non-industry interventional studies with no phase under Motor Activity, half reached primary completion within 23 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 9 and three quarters within 47. This study's planned 46 months is above that.
Counting every sponsor, half of 1,738 studies reached it within 23 months; a quarter within 9 and three quarters within 47.
