Study summary

This study is a single-center, open-label, controlled study. Its primary objective is to evaluate the 20-year persistence of immunity induced by the inactivated hepatitis A vaccine. At least 106 healthy participants aged 21-28 years will be enrolled. Participants will be selected from individuals who completed the full vaccination course in the PRO-HA-4006 clinical study (Three-Batch Consistency Study of Healive® in Healthy Children Aged 1-8 Years in Changzhou) . After voluntarily providing informed consent, each participant will undergo one venous blood collection of approximately 3.0 mL for hepatitis A antibody testing to assess the persistence of immunity induced by the hepatitis A vaccine.

Study population

Healthy participants who received two doses of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine in the PRO-HA-4006 trial and were included in the study, aged 21 to 28 years at enrollment.

Go through the criteria one by one — yes, no or not sure — and take the list to your doctor or the study team. Kept in this browser only.

Inclusion criteria

Participants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this study:

  1. Healthy participants aged 21-28 years who previously participated in PRO-HA-4006 and completed the full vaccination course;
  2. Participants who are able to understand and voluntarily sign the informed consent form;
  3. Provision of valid legal identification.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion Criteria:

Individuals meeting any of the following criteria will be excluded from this study:

  1. History of hepatitis A virus infection;
  2. Receipt of any vaccine containing hepatitis A antigen since participation in the PRO-HA-4006 clinical study;
  3. Autoimmune disease or immunodeficiency/immunosuppression;
  4. Coagulation abnormalities, such as coagulation factor deficiency or platelet abnormalities, or a history of significant bleeding, hematoma, or ecchymosis following intramuscular injection or venipuncture;
  5. In the investigator's judgment, any other factor that makes the participant unsuitable for participation in the clinical study.

What researchers measure

Primary outcomes

  1. Seropositivity rate and geometric mean concentration (GMC) of hepatitis A antibodies at Year 20 after vaccination.

    Evaluate the immune persistence of anti-HAV antibodies in serum 20 years after two doses of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine. Seropositivity is defined as anti-HAV antibody concentration ≥ 20 mIU/mL.

    Time frame: 20 years after vaccination

ElapsedEstimatedEstimated, not yet reachedSimilar studies: half by the dot; the band is the middle halfHalf of similar studies reached it by the dot; the band is the middle half, from a quarter to three quarters

Started Aug 2026 (actual). Primary completion is estimated for Nov 2026, 3 months after the start.

Of 65 industry-sponsored observational studies under Hepatitis A, half reached primary completion within 27 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 16 and three quarters within 45. This study's planned 3 months is below that.

Counting every sponsor, half of 215 studies reached it within 32 months; a quarter within 17 and three quarters within 60.

How these figures are worked out, and which studies are left out of them.

What these dates mean
Start.
When the first participant enrolled; while estimated, when the study expects to open to recruitment.
Primary completion.
When the last participant was examined or treated to collect data for the study's main question, its primary outcome. A study that stopped early gives the date its data collection stopped.
Completion.
When the last participant's last visit took place, for every outcome, secondary ones and side effects included: the end of the study. Often later than primary completion, sometimes the same day.
Actual and Est.
Actual means the registry says the date has happened. Est. (estimated) is a date the sponsor plans or expects. It can still move, and the sponsor is expected to change it to actual once it has passed.
