An interventional study of AlterG Treadmill and Metabolic Assessment in Metabolic Testing, sponsored by NYU Langone Health. Completed at 2 sites in United States. Open to participants aged 18 Years to 30 Years, including healthy volunteers. Per ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 2026-10-13.
Sponsored by NYU Langone Health · Not applicable, Interventional, and Other
This study will use an experimental quantitative research design. Participants will serve as their own control with a metabolic assessment by open circuit spirometry when walking on the Alter G treadmill for less than ten minutes per trial at 3 mph while supporting their entire body mass. Randomly assigned trials at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of body mass will be conducted under steady state conditions. All trials will be conducted in one session.
NYU Langone Health is the lead sponsor of 1,421 studies on the registry; 254 are open to participants now.
Of its 231 completed or terminated interventional studies of FDA-regulated products, 195 (84%) have results posted.

Inclusion Criteria:
Each participant will undergo a metabolic assessment by open circuit spirometry (to be performed by the Adelphi study team) when walking on an AlterG Treadmill for less than ten minutes per trial at 3 mph while supporting their entire body mass. The randomly assigned trials will be completed at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of body mass under steady-state conditions.

Conducted using a Parvo Medics TrueOne 2400 metabolic cart and standard heart rate monitor, one way valve mouthpiece, and nose clip.

Plan to share: Yes — The de-identified participant data from the final research dataset will be shared upon reasonable request beginning 9 to 36 months after publication or as required by a condition of awards or supporting agreements, provided the requesting investigator executes a data use agreement with NYU Langone Health. This instance of data sharing will also require separate IRB review as well as review from NYU Langone's Data Sharing Strategy Board (DSSB). Requests should be directed to: mark.grossman@nyulangone.org. The protocol and statistical analysis plan will be posted on Clinicaltrials.gov only as required by federal regulation or supporting awards and agreements.
