Study summary

Twenty patients were selected from the outpatient clinic of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura University seeking for extraction of non-restorable maxillary premolar teeth prior to delayed implant placement. Patients will be divided into 2 groups:

  • Group A: 10 implants were inserted after four months from extraction after socket preservation by putting two collagen sponge layers and in between deproteinized bovine bone.
  • Group B: 10 implants were inserted after four months after socket preservation by putting two collagen sponge and in between deproteinized bovine bone with addition of advanced PRF plus layer.

    • Closure of the flap was obtained without tension. Implants of all groups were immediately loaded .Some Clinical and Radiographic parameters and Histological and Volumetric evaluation were made at different time intervals along this study.

What researchers measure

Primary outcomes

  1. Implant stability

Implant stability measured using Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) with the Osstell Mentor device and SmartPeg. Measurements were recorded in four directions (every 90 degrees) and averaged per implant to provide an ISQ score (scale: 1 to 100, where higher scores indicate greater stability).

    Time frame: 6 months

Ran from Nov 2025 to primary completion in Apr 2026, 5 months.

Of 160 non-industry interventional studies with no phase under Alveolar Bone Loss, half reached primary completion within 18 months of starting (the median), counting those still running; a quarter within 11 and three quarters within 30. This study's 5 months is below that.

Counting every sponsor, half of 160 studies reached it within 18 months; a quarter within 11 and three quarters within 30.

How these figures are worked out, and which studies are left out of them.

What these dates mean
Start.
When the first participant enrolled; while estimated, when the study expects to open to recruitment.
Primary completion.
When the last participant was examined or treated to collect data for the study's main question, its primary outcome. A study that stopped early gives the date its data collection stopped.
Completion.
When the last participant's last visit took place, for every outcome, secondary ones and side effects included: the end of the study. Often later than primary completion, sometimes the same day.
Actual and Est.
Actual means the registry says the date has happened. Est. (estimated) is a date the sponsor plans or expects. It can still move, and the sponsor is expected to change it to actual once it has passed.
